Has anyone read either of these? They were introduced by a couple of my friends but I haven't checked them out yet.

"48 Laws of Power"
"The Alchemist"
"The Art of Seduction"

Tieuel Legacy!

Thanks Yolanda. Will do.
I am enjoying the Langston Hughes short stories. These are three short read. For those of you who did not get a copy, you can come by my house on Saturday and read them on the spot. Two of the stories have religious titles. Let's explore the elements of the stories that possibly reflect Hughes' view of religion, Christianity, in particular. And his story about the child with no turkey for Thanksgiving; how is it relevant to us in our time? All are invited to drop by my place next Saturday, but please RSVP so that we can have adequate quantities of snacks. Peace

I have a great book for the club. I'm a fourth of the way through it and can not put it away!!! It's called Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I am having a hard time describing it except to say AWESOME!!!!! Look it up on Amazon and let me know what you think.

You missed it! The ladies of Anita Diamant's Red Tent inspired the New World Book Club members to have a red tent discussion of their own. It was awesome and fabulously entertaining. Half the group was extremely sympathetic to Bilhah. Half didn't feel her pain. Everybody respected Dinah. Everybody thought Rebekah was full of herself. It was 100% agreed that the red tent was a fantastic, effective way to pass wisdom down to our daughters, granddaughters, and nieces. Great book. We are checking out the best-seller list in search of the next great read. Peace

Bilhah-Laban's last daughter-was Black and abandoned by her mother. Anybody want to speculate on what Bilhah's future will be? Her story reminds me of some of the girls I taught in the inner city who were born to 14-yr-old mothers. These girls were left to figure life out on their own.
